The dimensioning is based on the standards

  • EN 1990 + A1 + AC. Eurocode 1 Basis of structural design.
  • EN 1991-1-1: Eurocode 1: Actions on structures part 1-1. Genaeeral actions - Densities, self-weight, imposed loads for buildings.
  • EN 1991-1-3 Eurocode 1: Actions on structures part 1-3 General actions - Snow loads
  • EN 1991-1-4 +AC + A1. Eurocode 1: Actions on structures part 1-4. General actions - Wind actions
  • EN 1999-1-1 Eurocode 9: Design of aluminium structures part 1-1

The following things should be taken into account in calculation:

  • The durability and deflections of the cladding are dimensioned with loads according to the load calculation. Impact resistance is demonstrated by a test report in accordance with EN 12600.
  • Anchors used to attach the handrail must have a valid ETA. In the EEA, the characteristic values of anchoring are given. Anchor manufacturers have their own sizing programs for the dimensioning of the anchorage.
  • If the handrail is fastened from its handrail to side walls or other vertical structures, the capacity of the fasteners must be dimensioned.
  • The deflection of the handrail is dimensioned by the load according to the characteristic combination. The deflection of any part of the handrail shall not exceed 30mm
